About

The need to create, a severe incompatibility with traditional 9 - 5 jobs, and a love of color stories: The Pisces Moon story.

My name is Pam, and I’m an artist living in Madison, WI. I’ve been making art for as long as I can remember, and I have been playing with yarn in one way or another since 2010. I’ve also been struggling with being happy in normal 9 - 5 jobs since I started working, so I decided it was finally time to combine my love of art and colors with my tendency to go 110% into a job, and this time my boss is finally noticing and appreciating me (it’s me, I’m the boss).

When it came to deciding on the vibe I wanted for my yarn, I thought about the Pisces Moon, a time and space for creativity and inspiration. I feel the pull of the Pisces Moon in my everyday life, and I wanted to imbue my yarns with that energy; the feeling of being so compelled to create, above anything and everything else, no matter what.

I’m inspired by weird and wonderful things like anime (90’s anime has a particularly firm grasp on my heart; Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, Cowboy Bebop…anything you remember from Toonami/Adult Swim in the late 90’s - early 2000’s), video games (Pokemon, Chrono Cross, Legend of Dragoon, Animal Crossing, Sea of Stars, to name a few), cryptids, yokai, folklore/folk tales, Halloween, horror/goth aesthetics, and nature (including but not limited to deep woods, dark oceans, cool bugs, giant birds, and a classic sunset). I love all colors, and I hope to never put myself in a box with the kinds of colorways I will come up with.

I am vehemently anti-AI, and you will never find AI in any part of my work. None of my color palettes, drawings, logos, or anything else I put my name on will ever be associated with AI in any way.
